Teresa Wong plays Clementi’s Piano Sonata in A major, Op.33 No.1, first movement, “Allegro”.

I would have never thought of playing a Clementi sonata myself had it not been one of the grade 8’s piano exam songs this year. Usually for students I would go for Beethoven or Mozart, but this piece is just brilliant and has fantastic writing! It is much fun to play this piece!

I suppose my tempo is much faster than that in the ABRSM CD, but I find this faster speed sounds much more pleasing and light-hearted. You can also listen to Howard Shelley playing Clementi here, whose tempo is even faster than mine!
