New Year’s Resolutions 2012

January 4, 2012

The first day of 2012 was completed with teaching and script preparation with student MCs for our upcoming student concert next week (Jan 8). And so were the following few days, full of concert preparation all the same.

Today is only the fourth day of the new year. And I suddenly remember there should be some kind of new year’s resolutions for the studio development. Now, I don’t have enough time to plan much so far, but there are a few things that I have in mind for quite a while, and it’s time to have them achieved this year:

1. Make a studio CD – select some students of brilliant performance to a CD together; should have solo and duet performance, and be of different musical styles (of course I will play something as well)

2. Plan open-to-public performance for students, some of charity nature and others sponsored – I hope to have students to be more involved in performance FREE to wider public to promote music appreciation and at the same time for building up more self-confidence and courage in performance.

3. Publish my piano method book – I have finished the draft last year, but due to the heavy teaching workload, I haven’t have time to finish it off yet. I have to get the project done this year. It is most likely to be published on

Well, there are certainly many more projects to get done and ideas to be realized. For one thing I would very much like to get back to more serious writing and recording again this year. I would also be setting some clear goals for students (especially for diploma levels) to achieve in order to improve their playing.

But… everything has to wait after the student concert on Sunday!

Happy 2012 Everyone.
